PhD students in the Neuroscience Graduate Program of Rowan-Virtua School of Translational Biomedical Engineering and Sciences (Department of Neuroscience at Rowan-Virtua School of Osteopathic Medicine) partnered with RJ Steinhauer Elementary School on March 17 to host a community Brain Awareness STEM Night, transforming the school into an evening science fair focused on neuroscience, medicine and hands-on discovery.

Images of an endangered insect, a slice of Pennsylvanian bedrock and a creative depiction of an ancient dinosaur earned top honors in the 2026 Art of Rowan Research Contest. The contest was launched last spring to celebrate the student-created imagery revealing the artistry of scientific research and creative inquiry underway at Rowan University.

Honig unpacked prosecution, politics and presidential accountability during “An Evening with Elie Honig,” a free public event on March 26 hosted by the Rowan Institute for Public Policy & Citizenship (RIPPAC). Born and raised in southern New Jersey, Honig provides on-air commentary for CNN on news relating to the U.S. Department of Justice, the Supreme Court, major criminal trials and congressional and grand jury investigations, policing and other legal issues.

Susy Kohout, PhD, associate professor of biomedical sciences at Cooper Medical School of Rowan University, has been named a 2025 Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science—one of the highest honors in the scientific community—recognizing her impactful research in biophysics and cellular signaling. She is only the third faculty member in Rowan University history to receive this distinction, underscoring both her individual achievement and the growing strength of CMSRU’s research enterprise.

Rowan Radio 89.7 WGLS-FM collected two Gracie Awards from the Alliance for Women in Media Foundation on Monday.
The Rowan Report Election Night Special won a Gracie Award in the student division’s Best Crisis Coverage/Breaking News category. The live three-hour program covered key election races including the New Jersey gubernatorial contest between Jack Ciattarelli and Mikie Sherrill.
