Lily Laux, commissioner of the New Jersey Department of Education, and Evan Delgado, the Turrell Fund's president for programs and planning, will serve as keynote speakers for the Sweeney Center’s conference on New Jersey child care policy issues on Sept. 15.

After nearly 6,200 students moved into their residence halls, students enjoyed many Welcome Week activities designed to build camaraderie, introduce campus resources and encourage school spirit.

Students will have new opportunities for support through a $75,000 commitment from Spencer Spirit Holdings, Inc., the N.J.-based parent company of Spencer’s and Spirit Halloween.

Melissa Montalbo-Lomboy, Ph.D., an associate teaching professor in the Experiential Engineering Education Department at Henry M. Rowan College of Engineering, has been named a 2026 Engineering Unleashed Fellow.

Rowan University’s athletic teams are looking to build off last year’s success this fall, with seven sports gearing up for strong campaigns to open the 2026-27 season of competition.

John Zabinski, vice president for University Advancement and executive director of the Rowan University Foundation, plans to retire from Rowan University on October 1.
