A university growing with purpose
A university growing with purpose
Few things energize me more than the first week of a new academic year. Everywhere you turn, there are excited students on the move, full of anticipation about the opportunities ahead.
After a busy summer, I am pleased to share that the momentum we have enjoyed over the past few years continues.
In July, we successfully concluded “Forging Forward: The Campaign for Rowan University,” raising $244.7 million to support students, advance research and innovation, and strengthen the University’s long-term growth.
Just two weeks ago we marked the opening of the new home for nursing education within the Rita & Larry Salva School of Nursing & Health Professions on our West Campus. There, through our partnership with Virtua Health, we are training new nurses and providing professionals more opportunities to advance.
Nearby on the West Campus, Shreiber School of Veterinary Medicine welcomed its second class, with students representing nearly three-quarters of all the counties in New Jersey and 16 states across the country.
This week we welcome Rally House, our new campus store operator on Rowan Boulevard. Next week we will celebrate the reopening of our renovated Campbell Library, a modern hub for creativity, collaboration and research. Later this month, we will mark the official opening of the newest academic building where our first class of physician assistants is already enrolled on our Sewell Campus. And later in the semester, we will welcome our Ph.D. in creativity candidates to their new academic home in Philadelphia.
These milestones reflect extraordinary progress and expanded opportunities but, more importantly, they demonstrate the commitment of so many across the University to keep advancing our mission to serve students and the region.
With each step, we are working together to shape the future for the greater good, moving everyone forward as a community, strengthening and supporting each other. Thank you for sharing this transformative journey.
Yours truly,
Ali A. Houshmand
President
