One way to draw top employees is to be a top-tier employer, and Rowan University has always strived to be that.

This year, Forbes recognized Rowan as one of the best in America. In fact, it ranked the University #124 among midsized employers across the U.S.

The magazine reported its findings in a special edition, including Rowan on its list of “America's Best Midsize Employers 2025.”

According to Forbes, “the America’s Best Employers ranking celebrates the top 700 companies in the U.S. that create great places for employees to work. This list is based on surveys from over 217,000 workers at companies with at least 1,000 employees.”

Editors wrote that its employer rankings “identify the companies that are rated most highly by their employees, (and) have been helping job candidates find their right-fit companies throughout the past decade—a decade that has included economic ups and downs, a global pandemic, the rise of remote work, an increased focus on sustainability and the adoption of AI tools.”

Anonymous survey responders answered a range of questions about employers including: “if they would recommend their employer to others and to rate it based on a range of criteria, including salary, work environment, training programs and opportunities to advance.”

In 2023, Forbes named Rowan the 26th best state-based employer in N.J.

In addition to this year’s employment ranking, Forbes named Rowan to its Top Colleges 2025 list, named it #204 among Public Colleges (nationally), #245 among Research Universities and #151 in the Northeast.
