Rowan University’s spring athletic programs garnered national recognition across the board in 2025. The baseball (3rd) and softball (5th) teams each recorded national Top 5 finishes by reaching the national championship series and the men’s outdoor track & field team placed third in the nation, while producing several All-Americans. The lacrosse team reached the final 16 in the NCAA tournament, and the women’s outdoor track & field team had several All-Americans.

Now, these teams enter their 2026 seasons poised to once again contend at the conference and national level. Here’s a look at what’s to come this spring:

Baseball ready to face national juggernauts in 2026
After the program’s sixth journey to the NCAA Division III World Series, the eighth-ranked team looks to uphold the standards set last year. After a 38-12 season in 2025, the third most wins in program history, the Profs will lean on their experienced core to steer the ship toward success.

Pre-season All-American starting pitcher Zach Coluccio will headline the staff this season, following a career year for the right-hander. He ended the season with a 10-1 record and a 2.70 ERA, earning first-team All-NJAC honors and several all-region nods. Fellow RHP Austin Kreyenhagen will return to the mound, too, after being named to the All-Championship team and posting a 2.92 ERA.

Nick Struble, who posted a .400 batting average in 2025, and Brayden Davis will command the on-field operations on both sides of the diamond. Damon Suriani, coming off his D3baseball.com and NJAC Rookie of the Year campaign, looks to provide further offensive firepower. The Profs also welcome a talented incoming freshman and transfer class poised to provide a spark.

Entering his 12th season as head baseball coach at Rowan, head coach Mike Dickson will see his team tested early this season, as the Profs are set to face seven ranked opponents before April 1. The team’s 2026 season begins on Feb. 28 as the Profs battle #13 Cortland.

Softball eyes the Division III crown
#6 Rowan softball enters the season off a historic 2025 campaign that saw the team post a 49-4 record, the best in program history, with a 31-game unbeaten run to begin the year, a streak that ended up being the longest across all NCAA divisions. The squad took home the NJAC crown for the 13th time in program history, and made the NCAA Championship for the ninth time, hosting and winning the NCAA Regional and Super Regional in the process. This season, the team will look to ascend to the peak of Division III softball.

All-American pitcher Emily McCutcheon headlines the returning staff after she posted a 21-2 record and a 0.90 ERA last year. McCutcheon also tossed 15 complete games and 10 shutouts. Behind her, second-team All-NJAC selections Abigail Pawlowski and Kate Evick are poised to fortify a lineup that graduated three All-Americans.

Head Coach Kim Wilson picked up her 1,000th career win in 2025, becoming the first female coach to ever achieve the feat and solidifying her as one of the winningest coaches in Division III softball history. Entering her 30th season, Wilson and her Region IV Coaching Staff of the Year enter this campaign eager to chase more hardware.

The Profs begin the 2026 season with a home-opener doubleheader against SUNY-Oneonta on Feb. 21

Lacrosse ready to capitalize on last season’s historic momentum
Rowan lacrosse, entering the season ranked 17th in the nation, looks to build off last season’s momentum after making their first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2018. Finishing 2025 at 16-4, the team began last year with eight straight wins before earning an at-large bid to the big dance. With a senior class full of experience and younger players fit and energized, the team is positioned for another postseason run.

Highlighting the returners for 2026 is All-American Elaina Corson, who posted a program and career-best 84 goals last season, notching 10 goals in the NCAA second-round game. Alexis Lowry and Fiona Lockhart will also look to contribute goals and assists, with help from Trish Gillen to command the offense. Jess Hoffmaster and newcomer Madison Rothwein will pilot the midfield, while Jenna O’Neill will anchor the defensive unit alongside Leah Corkhill, Megan Tanner and Ryley O’Brien.

Head Coach Lindsay Delaney enters her 19th season at the helm and seeks her 200th career win in 2026 after advancing to the NCAA Round of 16 last year, the furthest any team under her tutelage has made it. Reilly Shaup will bring her goalkeeping expertise as she joins the 2025 NJAC coaching staff of the year as an assistant coach.

The Profs will travel to Lebanon Valley College on Feb. 25 to begin their season.

Men’s Outdoor Track & Field seeks 12th straight NJAC title
Coming off the program’s 11th NJAC title in a row and a third-place finish at the NCAA Championships, the men’s outdoor track & field team looks to break through for its first national title since 1984 and sixth in the program’s history. With success on the indoor level plentiful this season, the outdoor team should be firing on all cylinders come springtime.

The team returns a bevy of All-Americans to the mix for the outdoor season. The All-American high jumpers trio of Jamile Gantt, Arrington Rhym and Noah Wampole, hurdlers Jason Agyemang and Anaias Hughes, as well as Damitrius Hester in the javelin, all return. Hester seeks national glory after finishing as the runner-up at the NCAA Championships last season.

Head Coach Dustin Dimit and Assistant Coach Norm Tate, after taking home USTFCCCA Metro regional Coach and Assistant Coach of the Year awards, are seeking to cement their spot on top of the NJAC in 2026. However, Dimit wants his athletes to focus on the process and take each week as a building block toward postseason success.

The Profs will travel to Chester, Pa., for the Danny Curran Invitational at Widener University on March 27 to open the outdoor season.

Women’s Outdoor Track & Field sets sights on 2026 hardware
After missing out on an NJAC championship by 3.5 points in 2025, the women’s outdoor track & field team is determined to take home the crown this season. Ranked 20th in the nation to end last year’s campaign, the Profs will lean on trusted veteran leadership as they look to flourish in competition.

Nyla Jones, an All-American in the 400-meter hurdles, headlines the program’s returners. Jones was named the NJAC Rookie of the Year after sweeping both hurdles events and was a member of the winning 4x400 relay at the conference championships. Gabriella Pagano, who qualified for the NCAA Cross Country Championship in the fall, was also a dual winner at the NJAC Championships a year ago, winning both the 1500 and 5000 meters. Ava Reardon, a transfer from Georgian Court, and Diamond Eaddy are expected to shine for the Profs in the javelin. Fellow transfers Amari Pinkett and Jezena Aponte are welcome additions, ready to provide a jolt.

Second-year head coach Shedrick Elliott III will look to lead the program in pursuit of a championship breakthrough this year. Having built a strong rapport with his team last year, Elliott hopes to emphasize the importance of the big picture, instilling trust in his athletes to execute when the time comes.

The Profs will join the men’s program at Widener University on March 27 to begin the year.
