Connections for well-being: Resources to help you thrive at Rowan
Welcome back, Profs! We are excited to see you on campus and we want you to know you are part of a caring and thriving community. With support for emotional and physical health, academic success and activities to help you be well, we encourage you to get connected, feel connected, and stay connected.
Get connected with mental and physical health resources
Counseling & Psychological Services in the Wellness Center provides quality, confidential counseling to students. To schedule with a counselor, contact the Wellness Center at 856-256-4333. After hours, students in crisis should call 856-256-4911 and ask to speak to the counselor on call. Crisis counseling is available 24/7.
Additionally, free, private access to teletherapy and mental health crisis support is available through Uwill. Open to all students with a Rowan email, Uwill allows you to book an appointment in minutes. Students can choose a confidential therapist based on preferences in focus areas, including gender, language, and ethnicity. Appointments can be on days, evenings, and weekends via video, phone, chat, or message.
In addition to providing individual counseling, the Wellness Center offers group therapy and workshops for all students. Sessions focus on a wide range of topics, including time management, anxiety, depression, and behavioral therapy. For students experiencing illness or injury, Student Health Services in the Wellness Center offers care free of charge. The Center also offers sexual and reproductive health services in collaboration with FAMcare.
Feel connected with Campus Recreation
From fitness classes to intramural sports to sport clubs to state-of-the-art health club facilities, Campus Recreation provides students opportunities to get and stay active and healthy and to engage with others. All Rec Center services are free for students.
Stay connected with the Center for Well-Being
Rowan Thrive is our University’s commitment to cultivating well-being. It encompasses six different aspects of life—including physical, emotional, and social—and provides practical ways to build a life of purpose, resilience, and engagement.
Center for Belonging & Student Engagement provides programming and initiatives rooted in opportunities for intercultural engagement, leadership development, and the celebration of all identities across our campus community.
Seeking support for yourself or someone else
We know that the University can seem like a big place, especially when something troubling happens and you need support. If you or someone you know could benefit from assistance navigating the resources and services Rowan has to offer due to a challenge or unforeseen circumstance, you can submit a Care Referral on your/their behalf to connect with one of our Care Case Coordinators. Equipped with wide knowledge about Rowan’s resources, our coordinators partner with students to address concerns, seek resolution, and build problem-solving skills.
Connect with academic help
Professionals and peers are here to support you with succeeding in your courses and finding your path forward with a variety of student success programs in University College. From academic advising to success coaching and accessibility services, Rowan’s professionals are here as your partners and advocates.
Connect through Student Life
With resources for commuter and resident students, from new student orientation through graduation, Student Life staff are committed to helping students with self-exploration, self-advocacy, and developing a sense of belonging and independence. Examples include, but are not limited to, helping students with absence notifications, complaints/concerns, engaging with campus life, and emergency resource allocations. For more information, visit the Vice Chancellor of Student Life/Dean of Students' Office.
All of these services are in place to help you thrive and stay connected. Our professionals and student staff are here to offer support, encouragement, and assistance to every Rowan University student. Please tell us how we can help you or someone you care about.
