Rowan University partners with Nordic International University, expanding opportunities across Central Asia
Rowan University and Nordic International University have partnered to expand international education opportunities for students across Central Asia. Through joint-campus programs, the partnership will provide access to advanced technologies, information and training in high-demand fields like information technology, data science and business management as students pursue their diplomas.
“This is a shared mission to develop new scientists, engineers, teachers and business professionals,” said Rowan University Chancellor Tony Lowman. “With this partnership, we are training the next generation of leaders with one of the most esteemed institutions in Central Asia.”
Rowan University leadership traveled to Uzbekistan to meet with the Minister of Higher Education, Minister of Finance and Investment and the U.S. Ambassador to cut the ribbon on a Rowan University Center located at the Nordic International University in Tashkent. The partnership creates new opportunities for students to study curricula aligned with global standards in an effort to prepare globally competitive professionals.
At present, there are two academic pathways for students:
-
Master’s program tracks in computer science and data science, with initial studies at Nordic International University then on to Rowan.
-
Bachelor’s programs in a 1+3 format, with one year of study in Uzbekistan followed by three years in the United States at Rowan.
The dual-campus program allows students to adapt to an international academic environment while mastering programs and technologies. Students can connect with distinguished U.S. faculty and pursue internships and practical training. The goal is to develop highly-qualified graduates who can meet the demands of the modern labor market. Graduates from the program will have the opportunity to work in the United States.
Nordic International University’s mission is to broaden global education opportunities and prepare a new generation of professionals with strong academic backgrounds and the confidence to pursue successful global careers.
