FBI arrests individual suspected of terroristic intentions

Dear University Community,

On Tues., Nov. 4, the FBI announced the arrest of an individual who has been enrolled at Rowan University this fall. The Montclair, New Jersey, resident was indicted in federal court on Wed., Nov. 5, and is in federal custody.

The FBI notified University officials that its agents were investigating a student of interest prior to the arrest. 

At no time during the investigation was there ever a threat to the University community. The safety and integrity of our campus community are always our top priorities, and the University has a long-standing practice of cooperating fully with law enforcement at the local, state and federal levels.

At this time, we cannot comment on any details of the investigation, which is being led by federal authorities. We remain committed to supporting the investigative process and will continue to follow the guidance of the appropriate agencies.
