Commencement Week 2026 schedule now available

Preparations for Commencement 2026 are in full swing as we get ready to celebrate our graduates and welcome their families and friends to Rowan University.

Join us May 9 for the University-wide ceremony and celebration

All graduates and guests are invited to the University Commencement Ceremony & Celebration on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at 10 a.m. at Wackar Stadium.

This signature event features remarks from President Ali A. Houshmand and other distinguished speakers, the conferral of degrees and special surprises, followed by a festive celebration with complimentary refreshments, music, photo opportunities, and a beer and wine garden (for purchase). 

In the event of severe weather, the University Ceremony & Celebration will be postponed to Sunday, May 10, 2026, at 3 p.m.

Back by popular demand, all graduates attending the University Ceremony & Celebration will have the chance to win generous cash gifts donated by friends of the University. Several lucky graduates will leave the ceremony with an unforgettable bonus.

Ceremonies for each college and school: Monday, May 11 to Friday, May 15

Twelve individual college and school Commencement ceremonies are scheduled throughout the week at Wackar Stadium, with the exception of College of the Arts and Cooper Medical School of Rowan University, which both will celebrate in Esbjornson Gymnasium. All ceremonies will be livestreamed. At the ceremony, each graduate will be called to the stage, have their name read aloud and receive a diploma cover. Afterward, everyone attending is welcome to enjoy complimentary snacks, themed photo ops and more. 

Doctoral Recognition Ceremony & Reception

The School of Graduate Studies will host a special ceremony for Ed.D. and Ph.D. graduates on Friday, May 8, 2026, at 3 p.m. in Esbjornson Gymnasium. A reception will follow.

Guest tickets

Outdoor ceremonies at Wackar Stadium allow for 6 guest tickets per graduate (reduced to 2 tickets per graduate if moved indoors for severe weather). College of the Arts and Cooper Medical School of Rowan University ceremonies held in Esbjornson Gymnasium will receive up to 12 guest tickets per graduate.

Additional tickets will be offered, as available, to registered graduates on a first-come, first-served basis. Graduates will receive more details in spring 2026.

Severe weather plan

All ceremonies will be held at Wackar Stadium unless noted otherwise. In case of severe weather, college and school ceremonies scheduled outdoors will move indoors to Esbjornson Gymnasium with limited guest seating.
