President Houshmand named to Board of Directors, Chamber of Commerce for Greater Philadelphia
Rowan University President Ali A. Houshmand has been appointed to the Board of Directors of the Chamber of Commerce for Greater Philadelphia, joining a distinguished group of regional leaders committed to advancing economic growth and opportunity.
The Chamber announced its 2025–26 Board of Directors and Executive Committee Oct. 13, welcoming new and returning members to help shape the organization’s strategic direction and influence its work strengthening the region’s business climate.
Houshmand’s appointment reflects his ongoing leadership in higher education and his commitment to fostering innovation, workforce development and regional collaboration.
Under his guidance, Rowan has become a top 100 national public research institution. Offering bachelor’s through doctoral and professional programs in person and online to nearly 25,000 students, Rowan is the fastest-growing public research institution in the Northeast and among the country’s top 10 fastest-growing. Nationally recognized for innovation, high-quality, affordable education and public-private partnerships, Rowan is one of two universities in the U.S. to offer M.D., D.O. and D.V.M. degree programs.
As a member of the Board, Houshmand will leverage his expertise to support the Chamber’s mission and help drive initiatives that benefit both the business community and residents across the region.
