CMSRU professor awarded fellowship by Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh

Satyajeet Roy, MD, professor of medicine at Cooper Medical School of Rowan University (CMSRU), has been awarded a Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh (RCPE)—an international honor recognizing his contributions to academic medicine, clinical care, research, education and community service.
The fellowship was conferred during a formal ceremony in Edinburgh, Scotland, by RCPE President Professor Andrew Elder. Founded in 1681, the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh is one of the world’s oldest medical institutions. Fellowship is reserved for physicians who demonstrate leadership and excellence in advancing the field of medicine.

Roy, a board-certified internist at Cooper University Health Care (CUH), serves as director of the CMSRU/CUH Internal Medicine Residency Research Program and co-course director for CMSRU’s primary care curriculum. He has received multiple accolades for his work as a teacher, scholar and mentor, including the Vijay Rajput, M.D., Award for Excellence in Teaching; the Research Mentor of the Year Award; and the Best Teaching Attending of the Year Award. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Physicians.
An active researcher and frequent presenter at national and international conferences, Roy has been recognized as a "Top Doctor" by Castle Connolly and regional publications for several years. His professional interests include primary care, preventive medicine, medical education and medical humanities.
“Dr. Roy is a prolific scholar, a dedicated educator and a compassionate physician, and I congratulate him on this well-deserved honor,” said Annette C. Reboli, MD, dean of Cooper Medical School of Rowan University. “His work at CMSRU reflects a commitment to medical humanism and innovation, making this global recognition especially meaningful to the school and the wider medical community.”
