University-wide Day of Giving shatters goals, pushing 11-year total past $2 million

Rowan University’s 11th annual Day of Giving, held this year Feb. 26, raised a record-breaking $431,475, surpassing previous totals. Since the event’s inception, the Rowan community has contributed more than $2 million, strengthening opportunities for students today and paving the way for a brighter tomorrow.
With 3,158 individual gifts tallied, this year’s fundraising total reflects pride, passion and belief in the University across a wide range of constituents, from students and faculty to staff, administrators, parents and friends.
“We’re so appreciative of our alumni, donors, employees and students who came together to create challenges, serve as ambassadors and participate in the day. This year’s campaign exceeded expectations and it just goes to show there is so much support for Rowan students and what the institution means to the greater community,” said Director of Annual Giving Kaylee Collins.
Each year, the Day of Giving challenges donors to support schools, colleges, programs and initiatives that mean the most to them. Recipients include broad University priorities like the Rowan Fund as well as academic programs, clubs and athletic teams, financial aid and the Rowan community at large.
As it has in the past, the Day of Giving featured special participation "challenges" that, when reached, unlocked additional pools of funding. Varsity Football climbed the leaderboard with the highest varsity fundraising total— by a landslide. The highest percentage increase exemplified the power of teamwork, both on and off the field.
This year's challenges included the Student Donor Challenge by AAA South Jersey, which unlocked an additional $2,500 in funding for Profs Football; the Recent Alumni Challenge, which delivered $2,500 to Men's Cross Country Track & Field; and the CMSRU Research challenge, which unlocked an additional $20,000 thanks to parent donors.
If you missed the opportunity to take part in this year’s Day of Giving, it’s not too late – gifts of any amount make a lasting impact. Give today for a brighter tomorrow!
