Unearth a prehistoric world like never before!

Tickets are now available for the groundbreaking Jean & Ric Edelman Fossil Park & Museum of Rowan University (EFM), which is set to open March 29. This marks the first opportunity to visit EFM, explore the exhilarating world of dinosaurs and discover the fossil-filled quarry. Tickets start at $29 for adults and $24 for children 3-12. Admission is free for kids aged two and under and there are additional benefits for members.

Located 20 minutes from Philadelphia, EFM spans 44,000 square feet and overlooks the four-acre fossil-rich quarry. Alongside its exhibits, the world-class institution will include a unique fossil dig experience, free-roam virtual reality adventure, personalized interactive encounters, and a dinosaur-themed playground, offering a unique blend of scientific discovery and exploration for all ages.

“Our goal with the museum is to bring back that childlike sense of wonder and help people feel a deeper connection to the incredible history of our planet,” said Dr. Kenneth Lacovara, founding executive director of the Edelman Fossil Park & Museum. “Right here in South Jersey, we’ve preserved millions of years of history in stunning detail, with each fossil telling its own unique story. We want visitors to feel like they’re stepping into the world of dinosaurs and walk away feeling inspired, empowered and ready to make a difference for the future.”

Features of Edelman Fossil Park & Museum include:

  • Dinosaur Coast Gallery: An interactive environment depicting the authentic lives of East Coast dinosaurs from 66 million years ago.
  • Monstrous Seas Gallery: An immersive underwater journey through the primitive depths of the Cretaceous ocean, featuring a massive 55-foot mosasaur and other fascinating species found on the Fossil Park's property.
  • Hall of Extinction & Hope: An inspiring exhibit that explores the Fifth Extinction, the catastrophic moment when an asteroid impact ended the reign of the dinosaurs, and action steps to save our planet for future generations.
  • Discovery Forest: A nature-themed adventure that explores the Earth's history and evolution that ends at the vibrant TED-Ed theater, where animated films make science come alive.
  • Critter Cove: An opportunity to meet the modern-day relatives of your favorite Cretaceous creatures.
  • Virtual Reality (Premium Experience): A free-roam VR journey that follows an Expedition Voyager mission to collect scientific samples and come face-to-face with dinosaurs and Cretaceous creatures.
  • Museum Amenities: Quarry Grounds Cafe, Darwin & Co. Retail Store, Outdoor Nature Trails, Cretaceous Gardens, a dinosaur-themed playground and much more!

Additionally, EFM’s quarry dig experience, the mega-popular attraction that inspired the creation of the museum, will be open seasonally from May to October. Starting on Thursday, May 1, guests will dig for real fossils, unearthing clues to the ancient past and feeling the thrill of discovery.
