Rowan University’s Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in educational leadership program has been named to The Princeton Review’s Best Online Doctor of Education programs for 2025.

The list highlights the best online schools for education studies whose programs offer flexibility, affordability and access to innovative technology that students look for to advance their career.

Founded in 1997 in the College of Education, the Ed.D. was the first doctoral program at Rowan. It focuses on developing leaders who are reflective decision makers, work collaboratively, initiate or respond to innovative change and who have management and administrative abilities.

Students in the program can choose to specialize among the following areas: P-12 education; higher education; technology education; community college leadership initiative; and nurse educator.

“We are pleased about this recognition from The Princeton Review and we are excited about the growth and success of our Ed.D. program in educational leadership,” said Professor of Educational Leadership James Coaxum, coordinator of the program. “We continue to develop leaders who foster meaningful and innovative change in educational settings.”
