Encourage future physicians: Applications open for MEDacademy 2025
Applications are now being accepted for MEDacademy 2025, Cooper Medical School of Rowan University's (CMSRU) renowned four-week summer program for highly motivated high school juniors and seniors interested in becoming physicians.
MEDacademy offers students an immersive introduction to medical school, providing invaluable exposure to healthcare through a dynamic curriculum. Participants explore four key medical specialties—pathology, cardiopulmonary medicine, gastroenterology, and neurology—through engaging lectures, hands-on demonstrations, case-based learning, and interactive clinical simulations led by CMSRU faculty, medical students, and staff.
Highlights include guided tours of Cooper University Hospital, inspiring guest speakers, and the opportunity to present a final group research project during the program’s closing ceremony. Students gain a firsthand understanding of what it’s like to be a physician while refining their interest in the medical field.
Participants who successfully complete both levels of MEDacademy will earn five undergraduate credits applicable to Rowan University’s biology major. Those who complete the program will also receive three general elective credits and an official Rowan transcript, which can be submitted to other institutions for credit consideration.
If you have a teenage family member aspiring to a career in medicine, visit the MEDacademy website to learn how this tuition-based program can help them explore and solidify their path to becoming a physician.
