Billboard has named Rowan University’s Music Industry program one of 2024’s top music business schools. The list, composed of 40 campus-based, degree-granting institutions from around the world, is compiled based on industry recommendations and alumni and program information. 

Billboard chose Rowan for its dynamic and flexible bachelor of science degree program, highlighting the concentrations in both technology and business that allow students to tailor their studies to their specific interest. The publication also recognized the program’s annual career fair, which attracts top industry employers like Live Nation to campus to connect with students.

“This recognition is a testament to the hard work and enterprising nature of our faculty and our institution,” said Mathieu Gendreau, associate professor and director of music industry at Rowan. “It reflects our commitment to nurturing creativity and innovation in the music landscape. We are incredibly proud to see our program making an impact in an industry we are so passionate about.”

Known for its practical, hands-on approach, Rowan Music Industry is more than just a degree program. It is a launching pad for a thriving career in the music business, backed by a network of accomplished alumni industry-leading faculty and comprehensive, hands-on experiences. 

The Billboard article mentions notable faculty and alumni including the program’s professor of practiceMichael McArthur,, vice president of 300 Entertainment/Warner Music group; Erin Constantine, a host at Sirius XM; Ricardo Oropeza, senior label analyst at Sony Music Entertainment; and Gabriella Bruckner, assistant manager of e-commerce at Universal Music Group.

Rowan joins the list alongside renownded programs including Berklee, NYU, Syracuse, USC and BIMM University in London.
