Holiday Helper Rowan University’s Student University Programmers welcomes community members to check items off their wish lists during the 57th annual Holiday Helper Auction on Monday, Nov. 13. All proceeds from the auction benefit a local Toys for Tots campaign.

The online auction features Philadelphia Flyers’ tickets with VIP parking, a wine tasting at William Heritage Winery, a Michael Kors bag, holiday and theme baskets, restaurant gift certificates, and more. Auction items are donated by Rowan staff, community members, and local businesses.

Online attendees can log into the auction at 5:30 p.m. The auction begins at 6 p.m.

Holiday Helper Auction originated as “Project Santa:” a 24-hour radiothon founded by Rowan Radio 89.7 WGLS-FM to benefit Glassboro families during the holiday season. Over the decades, the annual fundraiser tested different fundraising methods, including dance competitions, jump rope-a-thons, a flea market, and a New Year’s Eve party.

For more than a decade, the holiday fundraiser has centered on an auction featuring interesting items bidders cannot find anywhere else, especially the recurring favorite: lunch with Rowan University President Ali Houshmand. In recent years, SUP has held the auction virtually, allowing more community members to participate.
