U.S. News & World Report last week released its annual issue of online college rankings, naming eight Rowan University programs among the best in the U.S.

The programs include:

  • Best Online Bachelor's Programs for Veterans (#49);
  • Best Online Master's in Education Programs (#58);
  • Best Online Master's in Criminal Justice Programs (#58);
  • Best Online Master's in Engineering Programs (#79);
  • Best Online Bachelor's Programs (#85)
  • Best Online Master's in Nursing Programs (#109)
  • Best Online MBA Programs (#115)
  • Best Online Master's in Business Programs (Excluding MBA) (#115)

U.S. News editors culled the 2022-23 best online results from more than 1,800 colleges and universities surveyed.

The latest U.S. News rankings follow a September announcement in which the magazine again placed Rowan among the top 100 public national universities in America.

Rowan, which the Chronicle of Higher Education last summer named the third fastest-growing public research university in the nation, over the last decade more than doubled enrollment to roughly 23,000 students; added two medical schools and is creating New Jersey’s first veterinary school; became a Carnegie-classified R2/high-research activity institution; and partnered with Virtua Health on a historic mission to change medical education, research and healthcare in South Jersey.

The latest rankings build on a year of upward momentum at Rowan including:

  • an endowment of its Honors College by John H. Martinson, a longtime friend of the University;
  • international acclaim for the discovery of Revolutionary War remains during research headed by historian Dr. Jennifer Janofsky;
  • a record number of federal, state and private grants to researchers in a wide field of study including the health sciences, transportation infrastructure, the environment and more.

The U.S. News Best Colleges report, which the magazine releases each September, also ranked Rowan #122 in Best Value Schools; #132 in Best Colleges for Veterans; #137 in Best Undergraduate Engineering Programs; #194 in National Universities overall; #209 in Top Performers on Social Mobility; and #356 in Nursing.

Forbes magazine, which also recognized Rowan “among the fastest growing universities in the country,” ranked the University #254 for Top Colleges; #120 in the Public Colleges category; #163 among research universities and #95 in the Northeast.

Forbes also named Rowan, as well as its partners Virtua Health and Cooper University Health Care, among the top employers in New Jersey.
