This weekend a student who lives in Holly Pointe Commons (Glassboro campus) reported to Rowan Police that a racial slur was written on her door.

At Rowan, there is absolutely no room for discrimination or harassment, whether written or spoken. Words matter and can be weaponized to intimidate and cause harm. We, as a community, must continue to hold fast  against disrespectful and discriminatory behavior and not allow these types of actions to go unchallenged.

Rowan Police and Student LIfe are actively investigating this matter. Swift action will be taken against the perpetrator(s). If you have any information about this incident, please call Rowan Public Safety at 856-256-4922.

To report discrimination, harassment and retaliation, please visit the Division of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion’s reporting website. If you prefer to speak over the phone, please call us at (856) 256-5830. If you prefer to remain anonymous, call the 24-hour Alert-line at 855-431-9967. And, for emergency reports, call Rowan University Department of Public Safety at 856- 256-4922.

Racism has no place at Rowan. Everyone deserves to feel welcome and safe on all of our campuses.
