Dear Rowan University Family and Friends,
Ten years ago today, Rowan University welcomed our seventh president, Ali A. Houshmand, to help chart the course for this extraordinary institution.
It’s my pleasure to congratulate Dr. Houshmand on a remarkable decade, overseeing the transformation of a well-regarded state university into a top 100, R2-classified institution that’s the fourth-fastest growing public research university in the nation.
Within an institution, it can be difficult to see change happening—and, of course, we all expect a certain degree of natural growth. However, there’s nothing ordinary about the pace, scale and impact of Rowan University’s transformation. The University’s distinctions continue to multiply. We are advancing access to affordable, high-quality education; supporting research and innovation; improving health care; and forging partnerships that create opportunities and empower people to improve life.
Speaking on behalf of my fellow board members, it has been a privilege to work with President Houshmand in providing leadership for the last decade.
