U.S. News ranks Rowan online programs among the top in the nation

U.S. News & World Report today announced its 2022 tally of the best online programs, giving Rowan University high marks for a wide range of offerings including its online bachelor’s degree, the online Master of Arts in Criminal Justice, the Rohrer College of Business online MBA, and a non-MBA online graduate business degree.

The news magazine, which computes annual best-of rankings for undergraduate and graduate programs alike, graded Rowan’s online bachelor’s degree program #138, a 118-place jump over its 2021 ranking.

Significantly, it also ranked Rowan's Master of Arts in Criminal Justice #48 versus #56 last year; the Rohrer online MBA #137 versus #192 last year; and a non-MBA graduate degree from the College of Business #110 versus #125 last year.

The news magazine also gave Rowan high marks in online graduate education (#80), nursing (#135), and for the master’s degree in engineering (#79). In addition, it ranked Rowan a top school for veterans at #73.

In September, U.S. News released its undergraduate rankings for 2022 in which it scored Rowan programs especially well, placing the University #88 among national institutions, a seven-place improvement over 2021; and #179 overall, an eight-place improvement.

Many of the most watched annual rankings come out in the fall including a Forbes study, which recognized Rowan as “among the fastest growing universities in the country” and ranked Rowan among the Top Colleges Overall at #352; among the best Public Colleges at #165, among the nation’s top Research Universities at #206, and among the top schools in the Northeast at #135.

Rowan University Provost Dr. Tony Lowman, the institution’s chief academic officer, said Rowan’s success with various ranking organizations reflects a commitment to all students, however they choose to study.

“We work hard to meet the needs of the region, to prepare students for the careers of not just today but tomorrow, and we’re getting noticed,” Lowman said. “Our success lies not only in what degrees we offer but in how we offer them, with online programming becoming ever more popular among large numbers of students and professionals.”
