Registration open for National Dog Show Therapy Dog Symposium at Rowan University Nov. 30
Registration is open for the National Dog Show Therapy Dog Symposium at Rowan University.
Now in its third year, the program will be virtual only but livestreamed due to ongoing Covid-19 health concerns. Originally planned as a hybrid in-person, online event, the onsite aspect was postponed until next year.
The symposium, a unique forum for practitioners, advocates and aspiring pet therapy practitioners, is open to the public.
This year’s program runs from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Tuesday Nov. 30 with a dynamic lineup of speakers and presenters, including some of the most prominent authorities in the field of canine therapy and the human/animal bond.
Keynote speakers are Dr. Temple Grandin, a world-renowned professor of animal science at Colorado State University, and Dr. Carlo Siracusa, an associate professor of clinical animal behavior and welfare at University of Pennsylvania Veterinary College.
The symposium will be co-hosted by David Frei, who hosts The National Dog Show Thanksgiving Day on NBC, and Michele Pich, assistant director of The Shreiber Family Pet Therapy Program at Rowan University.
