Busting COVID-19 myths: Rowan University experts host free webinar

On Wednesday, Oct. 28, Rowan University’s Department of Computer Science and Department of Molecular & Cellular Biosciences will host a free noon webinar for the public. Rowan faculty will discuss how scientists and developers are using data science, bioinformatics, machine learning, and more to better understand COVID-19 and its impact on individuals and society.

Moderated by virologist Dr. Claude Krummenacher, the panel will include Dr. Tony Breitzman, Dr. Ben Carone, data engineer Ganesh Chandrasekaran, and computer scientist Jack Myers. 

Discussion topics will include:

• Emerging roles of bioinformatics 
• Genetic data mining using supercomputers 
• Busting COVID-19 myths with data analytics
• Technology and contact tracing
