Rowan partners with Studio Incamminati in Philadelphia to offer BFA in studio art
Beginning this fall, Rowan University and Studio Incamminati School for Contemporary Realist Art in Philadelphia will offer a unique Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with an “atelier,” or studio, concentration.
The BFA program will include three years of training in humanist realism with live models at Studio Incamminati including drawing, painting, sculpture and design, and degree completion at Rowan.
Studio Incamminati was co-founded by world-renowned artist and educator Nelson Shanks and his wife, Leona, in 2002.
“This partnership will allow students to work in an environment that provides an in-depth experience that nurtures their artistry in contemporary realist painting while earning their degree,” said Sanford Tweedie, Dean of Rowan’s Ric Edelman College of Communication & Creative Arts, which houses the Department of Art.
“We are thrilled to be partnering with Rowan University,” said Studio Incamminati Dean of Fine Arts Dan Thompson. “A college degree is important for artists, and our students will benefit from Rowan’s abundance of educational opportunities.”
