Across Rowan University’s colleges and campuses, students are encouraged to act entrepreneurially – to embrace a spirit of creating and problem solving.

For its fourth consecutive year, faculty and staff within Rowan’s Rohrer College of Business are encouraging high school students to do the same this summer with a program that prepares them to “think like an entrepreneur” – a mindset that will serve them well no matter what discipline they pursue.

Rowan’s 2020 Think Like an Entrepreneur Virtual Summer Academy, which runs from Monday, June 29 through Friday, August 7, will teach rising high school juniors and seniors how to conceive, develop, prototype and sell their ideas.

Whether it’s starting a business, developing software, becoming a musician, teaching or anything else they set their mind to, developing an entrepreneurial mindset will help students foster and grow effective ideas so they may be successful.

"It's our expectation that students who participate in ‘Think Like an Entrepreneur’ will be able to really hit the ground running in their first year at college, wherever they end up going," said Dr. Sue Lehrman, dean of the Rohrer College of Business.

This summer’s program will employ remote learning technologies, engaging students through synchronous Zoom meetings two days each week, through outside-of-class exchanges with teammates and via challenging individual assignments.

Though the program will be held virtually, attendance is limited and parents must register by June 1.
