Rowan was again ranked among the best schools for Veterans.

Rowan University cares deeply about the students, alumni, faculty and staff who serve, or have served, in the United States Armed Forces.

This week, Rowan received a salute of its own as the website College Factual recognized it as one of the best schools in America for veterans.

Releasing the results of its annual study on veteran friendly campuses, the website, in its 2020 Best Colleges for Veterans Rankings, named Rowan #67 out of 1,751 colleges and universities nationally and #2 out of 33 in New Jersey.

The ranking puts Rowan in the top 5 percent of all schools in the state for veteran friendliness, a position it has held for two straight years.

Factors considered included affordability to veterans as well as support services and resources specific to veteran needs. They also included overall quality metrics and quality metrics important to non-traditional students.

The ranking comes just days ahead of Veterans Day, Nov. 11, and a weeklong celebration of the Rowan women and men who serve or have served the nation.

The Rowan community includes 577 military-affiliated students, among them veterans, reservists, active duty personnel, National Guard members and dependents.

U.S. News & World Report this year ranked Rowan #121 in the nation among the Best Colleges for Veterans.

On Veterans Day, Rowan will honor veterans and active duty service personnel during a special ceremony in the Chamberlain Student Center and will feature programs that honor and support military men and women all week.

Military Appreciation Week at Rowan runs from Nov. 9 through 16 and will feature a Federal Government and Non-Profit Agencies Career Fair Nov. 7, the Veterans Day Ceremony, and a Stars and Stripes Round Table discussion Nov. 12.
