NursingDegrees.Com, a web site that offers guidance and information about careers in nursing, has ranked Rowan’s undergraduate online nursing program #9 in New Jersey.

The site positions itself as an information clearinghouse about nursing careers and includes information about various degree routes in the field, from Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to the doctoral degree.

The Department of Nursing in the School of Health Professions, in collaboration with the Division of Global Learning & Partnerships, offers a variety of degree options including an RN to BSN (Registered Nurse to Bachelor of Science in Nursing) program and a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN).

Rowan’s large compliment of MSN programs include Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, Family Nurse Practitioner, Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, Nurse Educator and, coming soon, Nurse Executive.

The department also offers an Evidence-Based Nursing Practice Certificate of Graduate Study (COGS) which “is designed for the nurse who already has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing but little training in evidence-based practice.”

Announcing its findings, NursingDegrees.Com editors wrote, “We ranked Rowan University No. 9 in our new study focusing on the best schools in New Jersey to earn an undergraduate degree in nursing online. We took a hard look at factors such as tuition, student-to-faculty ratio and student services, then used the most recent government data to evaluate schools offering undergraduate degrees in nursing online.”

Speaking to the benefits of earning one’s BSN, editors wrote, “Whether someone is already working as a registered nurse or is entering a nursing program for the first time, earning a bachelor’s degree can be an excellent way to open up more career opportunities than those with an associate’s degree have access to.”
