WGLS-FM broadcasters, RTF students nominated for national awards

Rowan Radio WGLS-FM 89.7 broadcasters and the student filmmakers of two documentaries produced in Rowan’s Radio, Television & Film program have been nominated for prestigious national awards through College Broadcasters, Inc. (CBI).

The following are national finalists in the 2017 CBI National Student Production Awards competition:

Best DJ - Audio

“The Alternative Scene With Kelly Green”

Best Documentary/Public Affairs - Audio

“Overshare””

Best Special Broadcast – Video:

RTF Documentary Production, “The New Blackness,” which explores what it means to be black in America through the perspectives of seven young black Americans.

RTF Documentary Production, “Concrete Canvas,” a study of street art in Bogota, Colombia.

Winners for each category will be announced at the CBI awards ceremony during the National Student Electronic Media Convention Nov. 2-4 in San Antonio, Texas.
