Biomedical Engineering kicks off fall 2016 in ‘super’ style
Henry M. Rowan College of Engineering biomedical engineering students, faculty and staff will slip into their favorite superhero attire as they celebrate the beginning of the 2016-2017 school year during a fall 2016 kickoff on Saturday, Sept. 10, from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. in the atrium of Rowan Hall.
For the second year in a row, the Biomedical Engineering Department will welcome its students back with a superhero-themed kickoff celebration by transforming the atrium in festive hero fashion, complete with skylines and telephone booths.
Students will meet and greet the faculty as they reveal their superhero alter-ego identities in a casual and fun environment.
The department will host a “Superbeemer” costume competition, during which teams will race to dress in a lab coat, goggles, boots, a helmet and a cape; as well as cornhole competitions; and Faculty Facts trivia. The kickoff is a great way to foster comaraderie and build friendships among the students.
All decorations from the event will be donated to the Robin’s Nest in Glassboro for a children’s Halloween party.
