Pediatrician to share his experiences working with victims of Darfur genocide
Thirteen years. 400,000 lives lost. 3,000,000 people displaced. The genocide in Darfur continues to displace and destroy thousands of lives every day.
Cooper University Health pediatrician Dr. Jerry Ehrlich, a volunteer with Doctors Without Borders, will narrate his experience working with victims of the ongoing genocide on Wednesday, Feb. 17, at 5 p.m. in Room 144 of the Chamberlain Student Center, 201 Mullica Hill Road, Glassboro.
Hosted by Rowan University’s Center for Holocaust and Genocide Studies, Ehrlich will share stories of his time in Darfur through artwork by Darfuri children and personal photographs. A pediatrician for more than 50 years, Ehrlich risked his life as a volunteer to help genocide victims in Internally Displaced Person Camps in Darfur.
Ehrlich’s talk is open to the public. For more information, contact Jenny Rich (richj@rowan.edu) or Stephen Hague (hague@rowan.edu).
