A spirited evening of seasonal music is in store for audiences with “Songs of Good Cheer: A Holiday Musical Celebration” on Saturday, December 5, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. on the Rowan University campus.

This 4th Annual Marie Rader Fund Concert is a festive evening of seasonal music and more featuring Rowan's Orchestra, Choir, and other vocal and instrumental ensembles in an array of musical styles and settings from classical to contemporary. Beloved holiday favorites are on the bill, as well as work by John Rutter and a few sing-along opportunities. A special visitor may also make an appearance.

Presented by the Rowan University College of Performing Arts, the evening endeavors to support and promotes the university’s Marie F. Rader Memorial Fund. Established in 2008 by a group affectionately known as the “Friends of Marie Rader,” the fund aims to bring quality arts programming to southern New Jersey communities and the campus.

The concert takes place in Pfleeger Concert Hall on the campus of Rowan University, 201 Mullica Hill Road in Glassboro. General admission tickets are $20 in advance (and $25 at the door). Tickets for non-Rowan students (with school ID) and children under 18 are $10. Rowan students are admitted FREE with ID. For more information, call the box office at 856-256-4545 or purchase online at rowan.tix.com.

Rader, a passionate supporter of the arts in her lifetime, most notably volunteered her time and talents for the Philadelphia Orchestra for more than 20 years, as a member of the NJ Committee for the Orchestra and chairing numerous committees and fundraisers. As an Orchestra docent, she visited schools each season to prepare the children for their first visit to an Orchestra concert. No stranger to world-renowned artists, Marie was onstage in 1994 to thank Maestro Wolfgang Sawallisch with a floral tribute on the Orchestra’s Opening Night.
