With a little help from some Rowan friends, new Profs get oriented to campus
"My PROS member was better than I imagined. She did a phenomenal job. She was sociable, knowledgeable, welcoming and accommodating."
"The orientation made me feel like I was already part of the university."
"I’ve never been so excited to return to school again. I can’t wait to start."
That’s just some of the feedback from Orientation 2015 at Rowan University. Led by a spirited band of 37 PROS (Peer Referral Orientation Staff), more than 4,500 new students learned what it means to be part of the Rowan University family during mandatory sessions on the Glassboro campus this summer.
While the 13th and final session will be held on August 28, campus was a whirlwind of activity from May 20-July 23 as the bulk of Orientation sessions were held for transfer students and freshmen. More than 3,300 parents and family members attended parent Orientation sessions.
Orientation was presented by the Office of Orientation and Student Leadership Programs (OSLP) in conjunction with staff from a host of University programs and departments. PROS are Rowan students who work to help make the transition to the University informative, seamless and fun for new Profs.
Here’s a look at some new—and returning—Profs getting the most out their Orientation experience.
