Welcome to Commencement Week 2015
Welcome to Commencement Week 2015

There will be seas of students in caps and gowns on the University Green and elsewhere on campus this week; parents, other family members and friends craning their necks for a glimpse of their graduates; excited loved ones clutching bouquets of flowers, wiping tears and applauding loudly.
Commencement 2015 at Rowan University is underway.
Each day, we will capture a little of the excitement right here. Please visit for highlights of each ceremony (and scroll down for more details about Commencement 2015).

We’re thrilled. Our students are thrilled. But for parents, families and friends attending the Commencement of a loved one, the experience is like none other.
With that in mind, we’d like you to know about Rowan University’s Commencement Week 2015 as you prepare to arrive on campus.
Because of the extraordinary growth our institution has
experienced in recent years, Rowan this year changed Commencement
from a University-wide two-day program (graduate-undergraduate) to
a four-day college-based celebration May 12-15 in which graduate
and undergraduate ceremonies are combined.
Weather permitting, main ceremonies will be held outdoors, on University Green, at Bunce Hall. Tickets are not required for outdoor ceremonies but, in the event of inclement weather, ceremonies will be moved indoors and tickets will be required.
Most secondary ceremonies will also be held outdoors on University Green, weather permitting.
Barring inclement weather, only the school of Biomedical Science & Health Professions, the Henry M. Rowan College of Engineering and the College of Performing Arts will hold indoor secondary ceremonies, in the Student Recreation Center, Esby Gymnasium and Pfleeger Concert Hall, respectively.
Tickets – While guest tickets will not be needed for most fair weather programs, students participating in Commencement must download and print e-tickets in case of rain. If students have not done so, they may download e-tickets here.
Route 322, which bisects campus, will be open all week but security officers we be posted at crosswalks to assist pedestrians.
Parking – Graduates and guests are encouraged to park in lots on the north side of campus. Available lots include B, C, D, M-1, O and O-1. Cars without Rowan parking decals will not be ticketed during Commencement Week. Please note, Lots P, R and Y are closed during Commencement Week. Please view the campus map for lot locations.
Shuttles – Free shuttle service to Commencement programs will be available at various points around campus and at the Courtyard by Marriott hotel on Rowan Boulevard. Please visit this page for more info about shuttles, restrooms, refreshments and more.
Special needs – Guests who require special accommodations may have access to special parking, wheelchairs, sign-language interpretation and more. Please visit this page for more info.
Live stream – Rowan University
will live stream every Commencement main and secondary ceremony to
YouTube.
Photo Ops – Rowan’s beautiful campus has many great places for photos including the following:
- under the new arch at the entrance to Bunce Drive;
- with the Henry Rowan statue in front of Savitz Hall;
- near the Owl statue at the Team House;
- at Oak Grove near Evergreen Hall;
- in front of the backdrop in the Student Center Pit.
After Commencement – One of the greatest traditions following Commencement is, of course, a celebratory lunch. Glassboro and its neighbors have many fine restaurants to choose from and, because our Commencement program now spans four days, a table should be easy to find. Please visit this page for a few ideas on where to eat.
For additional information, please visit the main Commencement page or email Commencement@Rowan.edu.
From our family to yours, congratulations to the Class of 2015!
