Rowan Engineering, RCGC sign agreement
NEW AGREEMENT: Rowan Engineering and RCGC personnel participating in the agreement signing were (standing left to right) RCGC chemical engineering major Emily Barnes, RCGC President Dr. Frederick Keating, (sitting, left to right) Rowan University Associate Dean of Engineering Dr. Steven Chin, Rowan University Dean of Engineering Dr. Anthony Lowman, RCGC Dean of STEM Division Dr. Brenden Rickards, and RCGC Vice President of Academic Services Dr. Linda Martin.
The Henry M. Rowan College of Engineering on May 21 entered into an engineering agreement with Rowan College at Gloucester County that will provide an alternate path for students seeking a four-year engineering degree.
Under the pact, students may enroll in RCGC’s engineering program and then transfer into Rowan University’s engineering college (based on course completion with appropriate GPA).
The agreement will align courses so that students who successfully complete coursework at RCGC may transfer seamlessly to the Glassboro campus. Students may pursue any engineering major, but the focus is geared toward chemical and biomedical engineering.
Among those taking part in the ceremony were Rowan Engineering’s dean, Dr. Anthony Lowman (see photo: seated, second from left), and associate dean, Dr. Steven Chin (seated, left).
Lowman noted the agreement will help ensure that highly qualified students have greater access to an affordable bachelor’s degree in high-demand fields.
“We need engineers," he said. “We’re here to provide opportunities for more engineers.”
He noted he was highly confident in RCGC’s ability to educate students prepared to move into Rowan Engineering’s nationally recognized program.
