In what was the biggest, most ambitious Homecoming celebration in University history, Rowan alumni, students, faculty, staff and Glassboro community members came out in full force for PROFtoberfest 2014.

Altogether, an estimated 3,000 people—including 1,600 registered alumni—attended the huge, German-themed Homecoming celebration on Saturday, Oct. 18. While students competed in banner and float competitions during the Homecoming parade, a University tradition, alumni reconnected with each other at tailgate celebrations, in the giant alumni tent, and along College Row, which included tents staffed by deans and faculty members from each University college.

Meanwhile, the PROFtoberfest Block Party on Friday, Oct. 17, a new event this year, attracted 3,000 people—and 1,200 students—to Rowan Boulevard, where students, faculty and professional staff joined with Glassboro community members for a fun evening of food, music, dancing and family-oriented games.

The Profs football team won the Homecoming game, 31-0. Coach Jay Accorsi notched his 100th coaching victory.

Former Dean of Students Marguerite Stubbs, whose affiliation with the University spans four decades, received the Alumni Ambassador Award during Homecoming in recognition of her service to the University and the community.
