Hafner and Ortiz appointed to Rowan Foundation Board

Rowan University’s Board of Trustees recently appointed Jack A. Hafner Jr., director of Credit Suisse Private Bank, and Erica Ortiz, managing partner/founder of MediosCentric and president/owner of Sunshine Media Productions, LLC, to three-year terms on the University’s Foundation Board.

With more than 18 years of experience as a wealth management adviser, Hafner, a Villanova, Pa. resident, also serves as the head portfolio manager for The Credit Suisse MLP Advantage Portfolio and previously worked for Kidder Peabody, First Union and Lehman Brothers. A certified financial planner (CFP), Hafner received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Rowan in 1993 and holds a certificate in financial planning from New York University.

Also a Rowan graduate with a bachelor’s degree in communication in 1999 and a master’s in corporate public relations in 2004, Ortiz started her television career in local news for Philadelphia’s Fox 29 and NBC 10. Specializing in Spanish-language television, she then worked as an associate producer for the Spanish version of HBO’s “Inside the NFL” and later managed the marketing and communications for Philadelphia’s Univision 65 WUVP-TV. With a strong background in public relations, Ortiz has generated national and international media coverage for major sporting events.

A native of Egg Harbor Township, N.J. and a current resident of Washington, D.C., Ortiz is also a member of Women in Film and Video of Washington, D.C. and the National Association of Hispanic Journalists.

The Rowan University Foundation board comprises 24 members, including two student representatives. The board oversees and coordinates all fundraising activities, as well as manages and invests all charitable contributions to benefit the University.
