Rowan University Foundation Board re-elects Alyce Parker as chair
"I consider it an honor to serve as the chair of the Foundation Board particularly during these hard times when we need to raise money to help the University expand its offerings," Parker said. "Rowan University is experiencing many exciting changes and I'm proud to be a part of it."
Parker, who graduated in 1974 from Rowan with a bachelor's degree in political science and communication and earned a master's degree in administration from Rider University, also has served on Rowan's Alumni Association Board.
Established in 1983, Alyce Parker & Associates is a full-service public relations, business development, community relations and governmental relations firm focused on the South Jersey marketplace. Working on and off in the casino industry since 1981, Parker recently retired as vice president of public affairs for Harrah's Entertainment, Atlantic City, which includes Harrah's, Caesars, Bally's and Showboat casinos. Parker also serves as a member of the South Jersey AIDS Alliance, Bay-Atlantic Symphony, Bacharach Institute, Bacharach Hospital Dinner Committee and American Conference on Diversity.
The Foundation Board also re-elected Lawrence Salva, senior vice president, chief accounting officer and controller at Comcast Corporation, to his fourth year as vice chair. A Princeton resident, Salva has been a member of the Board since 2000 and has served on its executive committee since 2005. He earned a bachelor's degree in administrative studies from Rowan in 1977.
Paul Tully, registered principal, CFP, of Eagle Wealth Strategies, will serve a fourth year as treasurer. A resident of Wenonah, Tully has been a member of the Board since 2007 and is currently serving a second term on its executive committee. He earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from Rowan in 1999.
Joseph Bottazzi, executive vice president of business development at Edelman Financial Services, LLC, will serve his second year as secretary. A River Edge resident, Bottazzi has been a member of the Board since 2009 and currently is serving his first term on its executive committee. He graduated from Rowan in 1980 with a bachelor's degree in administrative studies.
The Rowan University Foundation oversees and coordinates all fundraising activities and is responsible for the management and investment of all charitable contributions to benefit the University.
