Two members of Rowan University's Class of 1994 will become the newest inductees into the Rowan Radio 89.7 WGLS-FM Hall of Fame on April 28.

Leo Kirschner and Sheri Sabot both will be inducted into the Hall of Fame during the station's annual banquet and awards ceremony at Terra Nova restaurant in Sewell.

Established in 2005, the WGLS-FM Hall of Fame honors "Glassboro State College/Rowan graduates, faculty or staff who have been instrumental in the growth and development of WGLS-FM and have been long-term supporters of the station and Rowan University," according to General Manager Frank Hogan.

A resident of Williamstown, Kirschner earned his bachelor's degree in communication, with a minor in music, from Rowan. Currently a producer for WMGM-TV, Atlantic City's NBC affiliate, Kirschner serves as the station's "image" voice. Also a freelance voiceover artist, his commercial work can be heard on regional radio and cable outlets throughout New Jersey, Pennsylvania and New York.

A composer, Kirschner has written for a host of projects, including a children's Christmas cantata, Showboat casino's "Basin Street Follies," and the musical score for the independent motion picture "E-8: Think Tank." He debuted his first stage musical, "O Night Divine," off-Broadway last year.

Kirschner recently returned to WGLS-FM as host of "The Rock 'N Roll Time Machine." While a Rowan student, he was music director and was instrumental in helping to establish new station programming, including the popular "Jazz Stacks" program with then-Rowan President Herman James.

A Barrington resident, Sabot, who earned her bachelor's degree in communications with a liberal arts concentration, currently serves as director of development for the Drenk Center, a non-profit behavioral health agency. In her position, she has increased Drenk's operating budget by $10 million and raised funding for 18 new programs.

Prior to joining Drenk, Sabot worked as director of development for the YWCA, where she was responsible for public relations, marketing and fundraising. She formerly spent three years at Cabrini College serving as general manager of the school's radio station, as a radio instructor, and as supervisor of the communications center.

Sabot began her WGLS-FM career as a volunteer in the promotions department. Later, she hosted the metal music shows "Maximum Overload" and "High Voltage." Sabot  served two years on the Rowan Radio executive staff and was station manager her senior year.

Kirschner and Sabot are the 25th and 26th members of the WGLS-FM Hall of Fame.

Tickets for the banquet are $30.  For more information, contact  Hogan at hogan@rowan.edu.
