PSEG Nuclear senior vice president to speak at Rowan University

Robert C. Braun, senior vice president of PSEG Nuclear, Hancocks Bridge, is scheduled to lecture as part of the Rowan University College of Engineering’s Henry M. Rowan Speaker Series. Braun’s presentation, “Energy for Tomorrow: The Nuclear Renaissance,” is planned for Thursday, Oct. 28 at 1:45 p.m. in the Betty Long Lecture Hall in Rowan Hall. A question-and-answer session will follow.

Braun has been senior vice president of PSEG Nuclear since December 2009. His employment there began in March 2007, when he was named vice president of Operations Support. In June 2007, Braun became vice president of the Salem PSEG nuclear plant.

Prior to joining PSEG, Braun earned his Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree from Villanova University. In 1982, he joined the team of Limerick Generating Station, a company of Exelon Corporation. As Braun climbed the ranks at Exelon, he went on to obtain his Senior Reactor Operator license while on the path to plant manager of Limerick Generating Station. From there he became vice president of Nuclear Oversight for Exelon’s Nuclear Group Headquarters. He also was named site vice president of Exelon Corporation’s Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station, a position in which he remained until joining PSEG. Altogether, Braun has more than 25 years serving in the industry of commercial nuclear power operations.

Rowan’s College of Engineering and the Dean's Advisory Council collaborate to sponsor the Henry M. Rowan Speaker Series. This event brings top professionals in their fields to campus to discuss topics of interest to students, engineers and the general public. The presentations are free and open to the public.
