Rowan to host author/poet Linh Dinh

Vietnamese-born author and poet Linh Dinh will read form his works on Monday, Nov. 9, at 7 p.m. in the Rowan Art Gallery, Westby Hall, on Rowan University's Glassboro campus.

The reading is free and open to the public.

Born in Saigon in 1963, Dinh came to the United States in 1975. He's the author of two collections of stories-Fake House (2000) and Blood and Soap, which was chosen by the Village Voice as one of the best books of 2004.

Also the author of four books of poetry, Dinh is the editor of the anthologies Night, Again: Contemporary Fiction from Vietnam, and Three Vietnamese Poets. Additionally, he has translated Phan Nhien Hao's Night, Fish and Charlie Parker.

Dinh's work has been anthologized in the 2000, 2004 and 2007 editions of Best American Poetry, as well as Great American Prose Poems from Poe to the Present. His works have been translated into Italian, Spanish, German, Dutch, Portuguese, Japanese and Arabic. Dinh has given readings in the United States, Berlin, and in Cambridge.
