Medical School logo adopted

One of the first joint projects of the Rowan/Cooper partnership was the adoption of a logo for Cooper Medical School of Rowan University on Oct. 25.

The logo provides an identifiable "brand" for the medical school.

A traditional symbol of protection, a shield forms the basis for the imagery of the school and its mission to guard health and guide healthcare. The stylized torch derives from a Greek and Roman symbol of life, and is a common image of enlightenment, leadership, truth and rejuvenation. The flames represent the partnership of Cooper and Rowan, distinguished institutions established separately and joined in a new mission.

The logo's red, white and gold colors originate in the separate Cooper and Rowan identities and combine to illustrate vibrancy, light and strength.
