The 30-second video of a suspect in the Oct. 27 fatal beating and robbery of Rowan University sophomore Donald "Donnie" Farrell has been placed on YouTube, the youth-oriented, online video sharing service, according to the Gloucester County Prosecutor's Office.

"Since the suspect and his companions have been described as young males, we thought it could be helpful in identifying the individual captured on store surveillance camera video to have it accessible on a young person's medium," said Gloucester County Prosecutor Sean F. Dalton.

"YouTube also reaches a geographically broad audience, and we have not ruled out the possibility that the assailant or assailants of this 19-year-old student could have come from outside the Glassboro area, in light of events that were taking place on the Rowan campus the weekend of the murder," Dalton said.

A football game involving an opponent from a North Jersey university and a campus dance open to non-students were part of Homecoming Weekend activities that weekend, Dalton noted.

The YouTube video can be viewed by typing the tag words Rowan, murder, reward and news. The video, taken from a Glassboro convenience store, also can be viewed on the Gloucester County Prosecutor's web site,

Detectives from the prosecutor's major crimes unit, the Glassboro Police Department and Rowan University police continue to follow leads--some as fresh as this week--in the Farrell homicide case, according to the Prosecutor's Office. To date, there have been no arrests.

A $50,000 reward has been offered jointly by Rowan and the sheriff's offices of Gloucester and Morris counties for information leading to the identification, apprehension and conviction of persons involved in Mr. Farrell's murder.
