Two students in Rowan's radio/television/film program recently appeared on "Speak Up!," a talk show airing on Philadelphia's UPN 57.
John Waller of Manalapan and Jennah Trocchia of Point Pleasant discussed their documentary, "Broken Dreams: The Crystal Meth Explosion," with host Todd Quinnones on the half-hour weekly public affairs show.
During the show, five excerpts from the 20-minute documentary were shown. Near the show's end, Jay Daggenhart, a former crystal meth addict, who appeared in the documentary, and Rowan radio/television/film professor Ned Eckhardt, their documentary film professor, joined the discussion.
"Broken Glass: The Crystal Meth" explosion was produced by Waller and Trocchia this past spring for Eckhardt's documentary production class. The production was funded through a grant from the Rowan Center for Addiction Studies.
The documentary will be distributed to all 56 New Jersey colleges and hundreds of high schools across the state as a tool to against drug addiction.
A crowd of 160 witnessed the documentary's premiere on May 15 in Rowan's Bozorth Auditorium.
