The Rohrer College of Business at Rowan University has named Peter
Jamieson, of Haddonfield, as its entrepreneur-in-residence for the
spring semester of 2006.
In the volunteer position at Rowan, Jamieson will provide special lectures and presentations to classes at Rowan University; give presentations on entrepreneurial success factors or similar topics to a University-wide audience; serve as a senior advisor for the entrepreneurship program and the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship?s Entrepreneurship Certificate programs; serve as a special consultant to the MBA consulting teams, the undergraduate consulting course, engineering clinic projects and emerging consulting cooperative programs; provide administrative support for the CIE director?s role as coordinator of the Entrepreneurs Forum of Southern New Jersey; and assist in creating a business plan competition at Rowan University and possibly statewide.
Jamieson has 25 years of senior level management experience in both start-up and mature technology-based companies, started two successful companies in the environmental data marketplace, negotiated deals of numerous start-up technology companies and negotiated multi-million dollar contracts that increased operating revenues and profitability, among other accomplishments.
He has served as Entrepreneur-in-Residence for the Rutgers-Camden Business Incubator and as president of RPS, Inc., Haddonfield. He was employed as content strategist for Marsh Affinity Services, Fort Washington, Pa.; consultant for B2Bdiversity.com and Rutgers University Center for Management and Entrepreneurship; director of content strategy for Verticalnet, Horsham, Pa.; project manager/director for E-Commerce Affiliated Distributors, King of Prussia, Pa.; director of Reedfax Reed-Elsevier, Horsham, Pa.; director, Business Publishing Services, Reed-Elsevier, Horsham, Pa,; president of Environmental Risk Information Center, Alexandria, Va.; eastern manager of Disc Products University Microfilm, Inc., Ann Arbor, Mich.; vice president of sales and marketing for Institutional Sales EIC/Intelligence, Inc., New York City; sales manager for Research Publications, Inc., Woodbridge, Conn.; regional representative for Information Access Corp., Menlo Park, Calif.; and regional sales manager for Bell & Howell (Microphoto Division), Wooster, Ohio.
He earned a master?s degree from Claremont Graduate School, Claremont, Calif., and a bachelor?s degree from Hobart College, Geneva, N.Y.
