Rowan Radio had its best showing ever at the Philadelphia AIR Awards this year.? Four Rowan Radio, 89.7 WGLS-FM staff members placed first and six others were finalists in Philadelphia's 12th annual AIR Awards Media Competition.

Rowan students placing first were: Jim Vassallo, sophomore, for Best college Radio Sports Reporting, Andy Goldstein, senior, for Best College Radio On-Air Personality, Mike Licisyn, senior, for Best College Radio Promo, and Heather Stanley, senior, for Best Original Public Service Announcement for the March of Dimes. All first place recipients major in Radio, TV & Film at Rowan University.

Since 1993, WGLS-FM has won 102 regional and national awards. WGLS-FM is a regional radio service with a potential audience of almost 1.3 million people. The broadcast signal covers South Jersey, parts of Philadelphia and Delaware. Rowan Radio can be heard at 89.7 on your FM or online at wgls.rowan.edu.

Broadcasters for broadcasters present the AIR Awards Media Competition honoring and celebrating Philadelphia-area achievement in radio, while raising funds for the Southwest Pennsylvania chapter of the March of Dimes.
