Edelman Planetarium Adds 'Laser Floyd' Performances
March 8, 2005
Due to the high level of demand in recent weeks, the Edelman
Planetarium at Rowan University has added a second performance of
the popular light show 'Laser Floyd: Dark Side of the Moon' to its
schedule of public laser shows. Visitors can now see 'Laser Floyd'
on Fridays and Saturdays at 8:30 p.m. The show has been extended
through the end of April.
Considered the classic laser album, Pink Floyd's 'Dark Side' has been called one of the greatest rock productions of all time, with more than 35 million copies sold worldwide. Now the Edelman brings the music to light with fast-moving multicolored animation and mind-expanding patterns flashing on the planetarium dome. Pink Floyd's electronic concept music comes to the audience through the planetarium?s powerful audio system, and planetarium special visual effects enhance the intricate laser images.
Tickets for the laser show are available starting at 6:45 p.m., when tickets for the regular planetarium star show ?Ring World? go on sale. The planetarium sells tickets only for that evening?s show; advance tickets are not available. Individuals may purchase up to
three additional tickets for people who are not present. Admission fees for both the laser shows and the star shows are $5 for adults and $3 for children, seniors and Rowan students with ID.
Planetarium information is available at (856) 256-5460 and at http://www.rowan.edu/planetarium/.
