The Entrepreneurs Forum of Southern New Jersey (EFSNJ) will meet on Wednesday, January 19, 2005, from 8 to 10 a.m. at the RiverWinds Community Center, 1000 RiverWinds Dr., West Deptford, for a discussion on Employment Practices and Regulations.

Panelists will be Dorothy J. Stubblebine, SPHR, of DJS Associates, Inc., West Deptford, and David A. Rapuano, of Archer & Greiner P.C., Haddonfield. Sponsor is DJS Associates Inc.

Registration, refreshments and speed networking (a chance to speak with experts and gather literature on topics such as marketing, finance and legal issues) will be held from 8 to 8:30 a.m. The presentation will run from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Networking also will be held from 9:30 to 10 a.m.

Stubblebine has more than 25 years of experience in progressively responsible human resources activities. She has worked in the banking and manufacturing industries and most recently was vice president of human resources for the generic division of Wyeth Pharmaceuticals in Cherry Hill. Since July 2000, Stubblebine has been a managing principal in DJS Associates, working with senior management in a wide range of human resource activities. She recently completed a one-year engagement as the acting vice president of human resources for the Philadelphia Gas Works. She holds a B.S. from Rowan University and holds a lifetime certification from the Society for Human Resource Management as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR). In 2003, Stubblebine was honored as the HR Person of the Year by the Delaware Valley Chapters of SHRM. She is president of the Rowan University Alumni Association and a member of the Foundation Board. She was the director of the Garden State Council of SHRM in 2001-2003 and serves as a founding member of the Courier Post Camden Business Advisory Board. She recently was appointed to the Gloucester County Human Relations Commission.

Rapuano concentrates his practice in representing management in all areas of labor and employment law. His practice involves client counseling to ensure compliance with all aspects of labor and employment law, including reviewing and drafting employment handbooks, workplace investigations, hiring and termination issues, wage payment issues and compliance with state and federal leave laws. In addition, Rapuano engages in an active litigation practice involving Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, the New Jersey Law Against Discrimination and the Fair Labor Standards Act. Since beginning his practice in 1993, Rapuano, who is licensed in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania, has handled a wide variety of employment cases for both private and public sector clients. He has published several articles on labor and employment issues, such as the legal ramifications of the monitoring of employee e-mail, and he also has lectured on various employment law topics before many business and professional groups. He is a member of the editorial board of the New Jersey Labor and Employment Law Quarterly. He earned his law degree from the University of Notre Dame Law School, and received a B.A. from Brown University.

Dedicated to promoting a more entrepreneurial environment in the South Jersey region, the EFSNJ includes representatives from Rowan University, Rutgers University and area businesses and industry. The not-for-profit EFSNJ was formed in late 2003 to foster the development of entrepreneurial ideas and ventures, as well as strive to improve the success rate of emerging, growth-oriented companies. The organization focuses on meeting the needs of entrepreneurs, businesses and educational institutions throughout South Jersey.
