Absecon Man Named to Rowan University Foundation's Board of Directors
Vito S. Pantilione of Absecon, the president and chief executive officer of Parke Banke, has been appointed to a three-year term as a public member of the Rowan Foundation's Board of Directors. Charles E. Sessa Jr. of Sewell, chairman of the board of Cooper Health System, has been reappointed to serve another three-year term.
The Board of Trustees made the appointments at a recent meeting. As members of the all-volunteer board of directors, Pantilione and Sessa will help identify fund-raising opportunities, provide endowment growth strategies and advise the university of new fund-raising challenges.
Pantilione has more than 20 years of experience in the banking industry and is the president and CEO of Parke Bank, which opened in January 1999. The bank has two branches in Sewell and a third branch in Northfield, all in New Jersey. It achieved profitability in its second year of operation and continues to be a leader in its peer group in asset generation and earnings.
Before becoming the president and CEO of Parke Bank, he was the owner and president of Eagle Valley Financial Services, president and a director of First Commercial Bank and co-owner and president of InterState Mortgage Co.
Sessa has served on the foundation's board of directors since 1995 and will be serving a fifth term. He is a past member of the Executive Committee, which he served as treasurer, secretary and vice chair. He is a member of the Investment Committee and chairman of the board of Cooper Health System in Camden, N.J. He graduated from St. Joseph's University in Philadelphia and is a certified public accountant.
Founded in 1983, the Rowan University Foundation is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) corporation that exists for the advancement and support of the university and its students and to ensure that Rowan is recognized as the region?s premier comprehensive university. The foundation manages, oversees and coordinates all of the University?s fund-raising activities and is responsible for the management and investment of all charitable contributions that benefit the university. The foundation is the only vehicle through which charitable gifts to Rowan University may be made and is therefore the proper channel for gifts and donations to the university from individuals, corporations and foundations.
