GLASSBORO, NJ ? Rowan University football player Domenic Tomeo was selected to the 2003 College Sports Information Division III All-America second team. A total of 115 players from 69 schools were named to the 26 th Annual College Sports Information All-America teams.
A linebacker, Tomeo (sr. Bellmawr, NJ/Triton Reg.) led Rowan on defense with 103 tackles. He recorded 39 solo stops, 10 for a loss and had 64 assists. Tomeo also compiled one interception, two pass breakups, one fumble recovery and forced three fumbles.
Tomeo played in the Aztec Bowl for the USA National Team against the Mexico National Team on December 13 in Estadio Cancun 86 in Cancun, Mexico. He had a time high of 12 tackles (six solo, six assists). Mexico defeated the United States, 34-31. The Aztec Bowl is the season ending game for college football that has been played 32 times since 1947.
A captain, Tomeo was chosen the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Defensive Player of the Year and to the All-Conference first team. He was honored by the South Jersey Touchdown Club as the College Player of the Year. In addition, Tomeo was a member of the Football Gazette?s All-East Region first team.
