In an effort to encourage reading among children and families, Rowan Radio, 89.7 WGLS-FM will air The Rowan Radio Magic Hat Storytime program, which will premier on Sunday, June 1. The show will run weekly on Sundays in June, July and August from 6 to 7 p.m.
The Magic Hat Storytime show offers a broad selection of multi-cultural tales, including African-American, Hispanic, Irish, Cajun, Korean and Chinese stories read by members of the Rowan University community.
Sponsored by the Office of the President, the Rowan University Educational Opportunity Fund/Minority Achievement Program, the College of Communication and the Students For Literacy Club, the Magic Hat Storytime program is now in its fourth year. The show has won The Communicator Crystal Award of Distinction, a national competition honoring radio productions. The show can also be heard on the Internet at http://wgls.rowan.edu.
